ATL is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Accounting Manager to lead our US Accounting teams and Corporate accounting functions within a dynamic and rapidly growing medical device manufacturing company. This high-impact role offers broad exposure to our global operations and leadership, as well as the ability to make an influential impact on ATL's accounting processes, systems, and strategy.

As a key member of our finance organization, you'll oversee core accounting operations, ensure compliance with US GAAP, and lead ongoing improvements to systems and internal controls. You'll also bring a strong mindset for efficiency and process innovation, consistently challenging the status quo and identifying ways to scale effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability. This role will have direct reports supporting the Utah and Minnesota manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure accurate and timely close, including monthly accruals, reserves, and reconciliations as well as review of monthly reporting package for each US based site.
  • Develop and align internal financial reporting with operational needs to drive timely, actionable information to key business stakeholders, including the ability to articulate month end results for leadership MD&A.
  • Perform and support controller with corporate accounting functions related to month-end close, consolidations, insurance renewals, treasury, BOD, and tax.
  • Partner with the business and global finance teams to improve processes and drive automation, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Support continuous improvement in processes and controls. Apply structured problem-solving techniques to create robust, enduring process workflows.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership around inventory, cost accounting, capital, intercompany transactions, and complex revenue and expense recognition.
  • Partner with the finance organization to enhance internal control processes as well as global policies and procedures.
  • Own US audit process, ensuring timely submission of year-end PBCs and response to auditor questions.
  • Support of FP&A function, including annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Partner with sales team on monthly global commission calculations.
  • Partner with global finance and IT on system improvements and implementations that drive efficiency and ROI for the organization. ATL currently utilizes Infor (ERP), OneStream (consolidation), and Power BI (analytics).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • At least 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience leading and developing a team
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and lead accounting operations in a high-growth environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with enterprise systems and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build relationships across levels and functions.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a "team-first" approach and the ability to be both strategic and hands-on.
