Turner Industries Group is looking for an Environmental Specialist for a position in St. Gabriel, LA. This position is responsible for performing daily equipment inspections and maintenance. Non-exempt role; Reports to Environmental Lead; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering, Chemistry or similar discipline
• Minimum 1-5 years of experience in industry, with environmental compliance experience preferred
• Knowledge of environmental regulations
• Strong networking, coaching and communication skills
• Ability to make changes or develop solutions to ensure production needs are met while maintaining environmental compliance
• Maintain good relationships with both types of customers: service groups and unit personnel
• Performance Orientation, Customer Orientation, Change Orientation, Leadership, Organization Effectiveness, Strategic Ability
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

• Support environmental group in regulatory compliance for a major production plant site
• Assist in implementing guidelines and training site personnel in environmental regulatory requirements
• Assist in developing and utilizing new waste tracking software
• Support site spill control, pollution prevention, and environmental plans and procedures
• Perform environmental assessments/audits
• Assist in compiling data for required environmental regulatory reports (i.e, SARA, TRI, GHG, FIFRA, TSCA)
• Assist waste generators by providing guidance with RCRA and DOT shipping requirements (i.e., storage,
  labelling, marking, placarding, etc.)
• Follow up on environmental incidents including verifying cleanup and assisting in accurate documentation in tracking system
• Assist in regulatory compliance auditing and maintenance of records
• Assist in communicating and implementing company HSE Codes of Practice
• Work with Operations and Service Groups to ensure environmental regulations are met
• Support site environmental compliance by helping to improve processes.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
