Position Summary
The Hospital Surgical Sales Specialist drives capital equipment sales and clinical adoption in burn hospitals and dermatology departments across the Western U.S. This role focuses on building physician relationships, delivering on-site training and support, and growing market share in a large, travel-heavy territory. Success requires strong sales skills, clinical knowledge, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive capital equipment sales across a large West Coast territory covering ~50% of the U.S.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including burn surgeons, dermatologists, and hospital decision-makers.
- Identify new business opportunities and execute territory growth plans.
- Provide on-site clinical training, case support, and education to ensure optimal product usage.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and clinical events to support brand presence and sales initiatives.
- Maintain a high level of technical and clinical knowledge to effectively position solutions.
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams including Marketing, Clinical, and Product Management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of successful surgical capital equipment sales to hospitals.
- Experience selling into burn hospitals and dermatology departments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large, multi-state territories and handle extensive travel (70–80%).
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving consistent market share growth.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires approximately 70-80% travel, including regular visits to national account locations, attendance at industry events, and periodic meetings at company headquarters. Must reside near a major airport to accommodate frequent travel within the territory.
