Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Food & Beverage Manager
Employment Type: Seasonal Position (July-October), requires open availability including weekends and holidays

Position Summary:

The Barback / Food Runner supports both bar and restaurant operations by ensuring the bar is stocked and sanitary while also ensuring timely delivery of food from the kitchen to guests. This hybrid role plays a key part in smooth service flow, guest satisfaction, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-prepared environment during high-volume periods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Food Runner Duties

  • Retrieve and deliver food orders from the kitchen promptly and accurately.

  • Confirm orders with servers to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintain proper food presentation and temperature during delivery.

  • Assist servers with drink refills, clearing plates, and responding to guest needs.

  • Communicate any dietary requests or special instructions to the kitchen.

  • Help reset tables and keep the dining area clean and orderly.

Barback Duties

  • Restock alcohol, mixers, glassware, garnishes, and bar tools as needed.

  • Assist in receiving, organizing, and monitoring bar inventory.

  • Maintain a clean, organized bar area including bar surfaces, sinks, and storage.

  • Wash and store glassware and dispose of trash regularly.

  • Assist bartenders with garnish prep and setup/breakdown duties.

  • Occasionally help with guest drink delivery during peak hours.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times.

  • Participate in opening and closing procedures.

  • Report equipment issues or low stock levels to management.

  • Ensure all guest areas are clean and well-maintained.

  • Contribute to a team-first culture by helping wherever needed during busy periods.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Physical stamina to lift, bend, carry, and stand for extended periods.

  • Strong communication and multitasking skills.

  • Friendly and professional demeanor.

  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.

  • Previous bar or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.

  • Must have open availability including weekends and holidays during the seasonal period (July-October).
