About being our Project Engineer

In this role, our Project Engineer will focus on transportation and utility related civil design projects around the greater Puget Sound area. An interest and desire to move into project management is a plus. Our engineering group is currently involved in a variety of municipal projects, including roadway widening and restoration, intersection revisions, signature and festival streets, downtown revitalization, sidewalk and bicycle facilities, trails and parks, surface water collection and treatment, LID improvements, and water and sewer system replacements.

Our ideal candidate will bring their education and experience along with a collaborative spirit to begin work on both current and upcoming projects. We offer an exciting opportunity to support innovative projects as well as contribute to larger integrated project assignments. As an integrated design firm, our engineers work in partnership with multiple disciplines on a variety of endeavors.


Responsibility Highlights for our Project Engineer

  • Design of transportation and utility related municipal projects using Civil3D
  • Lead project design groups and project meetings
  • Provide direction and mentorship for emerging professionals and direct the work of subconsultants
  • Prepare, or assist in the preparation of, Plans, Specifications, and Estimates
  • Maintain and oversee the development of project plans, specifications, quantities and cost estimates
  • Assign tasks to and oversee work of design engineers, technicians, or administrative staff

Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Engineer

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Washington
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil engineering

Preferred Qualifications for our Project Engineer

  • 10+ years' experience with regulations and infrastructure design
  • Experience in providing direct supervision of engineers and junior staff
  • Experience in writing reports, performing technical design, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates, project scheduling, and proposal writing
  • Experience working with local Puget Sound municipalities and special purpose districts

  • A competitive salary! The genuinely expected range for this position is $108,000 - $135,000/annually depending on experience
    • Compensation may be adjusted for well qualified candidates
