Coordinate the flow of field operations as a Dispatcher

CMT Technical Services is seeking a highly organized and responsive Dispatcher to support daily service and field operations. This role is responsible for coordinating personnel, vehicles, and resources to ensure efficient scheduling and execution of projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly under pressure, and can make quick, informed decisions to keep operations running smoothly.

Compensation: $25-30/hour depending on experience
Location: West Valley City, UT
FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Hours may vary; flexibility required, including evenings or weekends as needed


What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinate and schedule drivers, technicians, and service teams based on workload, location, and project priorities
  • Communicate real-time updates with field staff, customers, and internal teams
  • Respond to delays, emergencies, and schedule changes by reallocating resources effectively
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, assignments, service times, and job details
  • Utilize dispatch software and GPS systems to track vehicles and manage workflow
  • Provide excellent customer service by handling inquiries, resolving issues, and confirming appointments
  • Collaborate with operations and project managers to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations

What you have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, emergency services, or customer service
  • Strong communication and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS systems, or scheduling tools
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed

What will make you stand out:

  • Knowledge of local geography or service areas
  • Experience with fleet management systems
  • Familiarity with DOT or industry-specific regulations

Preferred Certification(s):

  • Relevant certifications in logistics, transportation, or dispatching (if applicable)
