The District is seeking a skilled Electronics & Instrumentation Technician III to support and maintain advanced automation, instrumentation, electrical systems, and SCADA/PLC controls across multiple facilities. This is a senior-level, hands-on technical role supporting critical water treatment and distribution operations.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, electrical distribution systems, motor controls, RTUs, and telemetry equipment.
Program, maintain, and repair PLC and SCADA systems (iFix experience preferred).
Install conduit, wiring, RTU panels, and control panels.
Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation, electrical, fiber optic, radio, and automated control systems.
Build and install RTU and control panels from schematics.
Assist with system upgrades, maintenance planning, and material procurement.
Participate in ongoing technical and safety training.
High school diploma required; associate degree in Electronics/Instrumentation preferred.
5+ years of experience in electronics, instrumentation, automation, or industrial electrical work.
Valid Utah Driver License.
Utah Grade IV Water Treatment or Distribution Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
Strong troubleshooting skills with PLCs, SCADA, industrial controls, and test equipment.
Ability to install and maintain fiber optic, Ethernet, and CAT6 systems.
Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and basic programming.
Field and facility work, including outdoor conditions, confined spaces, and electrical systems.
Moderate physical demands; lifting up to 50 lbs.
On-call rotation required.
