Description

The District is seeking a skilled Electronics & Instrumentation Technician III to support and maintain advanced automation, instrumentation, electrical systems, and SCADA/PLC controls across multiple facilities. This is a senior-level, hands-on technical role supporting critical water treatment and distribution operations.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, electrical distribution systems, motor controls, RTUs, and telemetry equipment.

  • Program, maintain, and repair PLC and SCADA systems (iFix experience preferred).

  • Install conduit, wiring, RTU panels, and control panels.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation, electrical, fiber optic, radio, and automated control systems.

  • Build and install RTU and control panels from schematics.

  • Assist with system upgrades, maintenance planning, and material procurement.

  • Participate in ongoing technical and safety training.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma required; associate degree in Electronics/Instrumentation preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in electronics, instrumentation, automation, or industrial electrical work.

  • Valid Utah Driver License.

  • Utah Grade IV Water Treatment or Distribution Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with PLCs, SCADA, industrial controls, and test equipment.

  • Ability to install and maintain fiber optic, Ethernet, and CAT6 systems.

  • Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and basic programming.

Work Environment

  • Field and facility work, including outdoor conditions, confined spaces, and electrical systems.

  • Moderate physical demands; lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • On-call rotation required.
