Job Title: LIFT ELECTRICIAN
Department: Mountain Operations
Reports To: Lift Maintenance Manager
Rate of Pay: $38.00/hour
Shift: Weekends, holidays and special events are required based on business needs. Weekly shift usually is 5 days per week.
FLSA Status: Non Exempt Hourly Full-Time
Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of lift electrical systems. Lift Electrician must be knowledgeable and in compliance with industry standards for lift maintenance and safety to troubleshoot lift issues and come to quick, positive results. Must possess solid leadership skills and represent Sundance and mountain operations appropriately and in support of guiding principles including the environmental commitment. Lift Electrician will work closely with all Mountain Operations teams to ensure a seamless quality guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of lift maintenance including pre-season, in-season, and post-season maintenance schedules.
- Perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance as well as troubleshooting on a variety of electrical, electro-mechanical, industrial control systems and commercial equipment including low voltage AC controls, DC controls, motors, drives and 120-480V systems.
- Assume the lead role in troubleshooting and repair of lift related Industrial Controls including PLC's and Drives.
- Actively involved in Lift electrical emergency procedures and time dependent repairs.
- Assist in the electrical training and development of other departmental personnel.
- Provide opportunity to attend industry training and events.
- Document staff training and provide follow up and accountability tools.
- Manage annual maintenance schedule for planning of labor and expenses for all electrical projects.
- Maintain daily schedule for maintenance projects.
- Manage a lift electrical maintenance schedule and plan to avoid unforeseen lift repairs that might negatively impact Sundance by loss of revenue or exceeding budget.
- Work closely with Lift Maintenance Manager on various projects.
- Represent all lift maintenance needs and concerns to Lift Maintenance Manager in a timely manner and with required detail, background and possible solutions to ensure a quick resolution.
- Responsible for lift maintenance and operations in accordance with all safety, OSHA and insurance applicable guidelines and/or state and Federal laws.
- Work closely with Mountain Guard to ensure compliance with industry standards on operations and maintenance.
- Inspect and check all work for compliance to all standards.
- Oversee all electrical maintenance logs and required record keeping according to industry standards.
- Solve problems quickly with solid trouble shooting skills.
- Recognize when outside help is needed and call in those resources to minimize loss of operations.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry professionals to ensure timely and professional service when needed.
- Assist Lift Operations Manager with lift operations when needed.
- Troubleshoot and maintain various Mountain Operations electrical systems including but not limited to buildings, snow making equipment i.e.; snow guns, pumps, night light systems etc.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3-5 years' experience working with detachable and fixed grip chairlifts or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with Industrial controls including programming and troubleshooting PLC's and digital drives Must possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, internet navigation and electronic mail.
- Operate 2-way radios for communication to other staff.
- Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, communicate, and occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift/move up to 70 pounds and occasionally over 100 pounds.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
