About Mountain Veteran Program

Mountain Veteran Program is a new initiative by Sundance Mountain Resort and Utah's MIDA (Military Installation Development Authority) to provide multi-day winter and summer outdoor recreational experiences at Sundance Mountain Resort to US military veterans who were wounded or injured in the line of duty at no cost to veteran participants and their guests.


Position Summary

The Program Manager position is a full-time position based in Sundance, UT. This role works closely with the Executive Director and Sundance Mountain Resort team to coordinate and execute all programming offered by the Mountain Veteran Program. The Program Manager is primarily responsible for delivering multi-day veteran programs, ensuring each participant receives a seamless, supportive, and meaningful experience from application through program completion. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in an office setting and outdoors, as this role requires hands-on, on-site program delivery in mountain environments. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, cares deeply about the veteran community, and enjoys blending logistics, relationship-building, and direct program execution.


Duties/Responsibilities

Program Delivery and Coordination

  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Sundance teams to deliver all programming offered by the Mountain Veteran Program
  • Coordinate and deliver multi-day programs at Sundance Mountain Resort
  • Oversee logistics including lodging, activities, transportation, dining, and participant support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for participants before, during, and after programs
  • Support participant intake, documentation, and onboarding processes
  • Provide on-site program support, including active outdoor facilitation, participant engagement, and troubleshooting

Operations and Administration

  • Maintain program records, waiver collection, participant data, and CRM systems, and assist with inventory management and equipment coordination
  • Assist in fundraising event logistics and coordination as assigned.
  • Assist with the creation and production of newsletters, social media communication, website management, and other promotional

Partnership and Program Support

  • Utilize a program evaluation framework to assess the strength of each program and identify areas for improvement to achieve mission-driven results.
  • Coordinate with Sundance departments and external partners to deliver program activities
  • Assist with program evaluations, feedback collection, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Contribute to planning and development of future MVP programs

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in programming or project Military experience and/or nonprofit experience are a plus.
  • Successful experience managing and delivering program
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during program delivery

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational, presentation, and attention to detail skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Passionate about the mission and vision of the organization and establishing lasting relationships with participants, volunteers, donors and vendors.

Work Environment

  • Occasional travel.
  • Evening and weekend work hours are required during programs and events.
  • May be required to lift boxes and other objects of various weights up to 30 pounds.
  • Comfortable working both in an office setting and outdoors, as this role requires hands-on, on-site program delivery in mountain environments.
