Job Title: MOUNTAIN HOST SUPERVISOR

Rate of Pay: $19/hour
Shift: Part-time: 8am-1pm, Five Days a Week, Seasonal position
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

SUMMARY
The Mountain Host Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Sundance Mountain Resort host program. The Host Supervisor ensures that guests have an experience that is uplifting and enjoyable. The Supervisor educates hosts on all aspects of Sundance so they can speak to guests in an animated manner about the Resort and its events and activities. The Host Supervisor collaborates with the Director of Guest Services and Ticketing in all aspects of the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the Sundance Mountain Host Program.
- Hire, train and manage the mountain hosts.
- Communicate Resort updates and other information to the hosts
- Teach and promote safe skiing practices among hosts and guests.
- Coordinate and deliver the day-to-day meeting and greet guests and hosts.
- Create and maintain schedule for the hosts in the program.
- Assist guests as they arrive and seek information and direction.
- Be completely familiar with all aspects of Sundance and current events, meetings and programs, and communicate this to the guests as appropriate. Assist the hosts in doing the same.
- Help oversee day-to-day host duties and assignments.
- Build and strengthen guest relationships and promote returning clientele.
- Ski at a level that encourages safety and confidence in the guest during the mountain guide service.
- Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the opportunity arises.
- Mountain Hosts are given additional benefits by way of skiing vouchers. Supervisor oversees the distribution of these benefits.
- Coordinate the distribution of hot chocolate via the portable hot chocolate backpacks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting hosts, and training hosts; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit them to HR in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience as a host required.
- Operate 2-way radios for communication to other staff.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and ski. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside winter weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
