As our Survey Crew Chief for our Survey & Geospatial team in Salt Lake City, you'll play a key role supporting infrastructure and land development projects across Utah. In this field leadership position, you'll oversee daily survey operations, perform a variety of technical survey work, and help ensure projects are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.

What You'll Do
As our Survey Crew Chief, you will oversee daily field operations while performing technical survey work and supporting project delivery through leadership, accuracy, and safety.
- Field Operations & Crew Leadership
Oversee the daily field operations of a land survey crew and provide leadership to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. - Survey Field Work
Perform fieldwork for boundary, topographic, right-of-way, construction staking, and design surveys with varying levels of technical complexity. - Construction Layout & Staking
Prepare construction staking layouts and perform field staking while maintaining accurate field book notes and documentation. - Technical Execution & Documentation
Utilize CAD programs to support survey preparation and reporting while preparing daily reports, time sheets, and required project documentation. - Client Communication & Coordination
Interact professionally with clients, landowners, and stakeholders while representing the survey team in the field. - Drawing Interpretation & Quality Control
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications while maintaining an understanding of project requirements, tolerances, and survey standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years of surveying and/or construction staking experience
- Advanced understanding of field survey practices and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $25-$35/hour (commensurate with experience; compensation may be adjusted for highly qualified candidates)
