As our Land Planner for our Planning and Design team in the Salt Lake City area, you'll support a wide range of impactful land planning projects across the Western U.S. In this role, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver thoughtful, community-focused planning solutions through strong analysis, design, and storytelling.

What You'll Do

As our Land Planner, you will support planning and design efforts across a variety of projects, contributing to high-quality deliverables and collaborative project execution.

  • Planning & Entitlement Support
    Prepare planning and entitlement documents for a range of development and design projects.
  • Research & Analysis
    Conduct project research, including demographics, site analysis, and code interpretation to inform planning strategies.
  • Code Development & Interpretation
    Support code writing, updates, and interpretation of zoning and planning regulations.
  • Design & Visualization
    Create illustrative exhibits, including plans, sketches, and 3D models to communicate project concepts.
  • Collaboration & Client Engagement
    Work closely with internal teams and external clients to support project goals and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field (Urban Design, Policy, Environmental Planning, or similar)
  • 5+ years of experience in urban planning or related field
  • Knowledge of planning and zoning ordinances, codes, and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build client relationships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with design and productivity tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with code reform, form-based codes, or Euclidian zoning is a plus
  • Working knowledge of tools such as SketchUp, ArcGIS, or advanced Excel is a plus
