Description

Easton Technical Products is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic on-site Accounting Manager to support our finance operations with a strong emphasis on cost accounting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Inventory

  • Support inventory setup, cost accuracy, and cost roll processes
  • Analyze and report on standard vs. actual cost variances
  • Assist with inventory audits and year-end counts
  • Ensure accurate costing impacts across purchasing and production

Accounts Payable & Purchasing

  • Understand AP and PO processes and coding to the general ledger
  • Monitor how purchasing activities affect inventory and costing

Month-End Close & Reporting

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Support monthly close and financial statement preparation
  • Generate and analyze monthly financial reports
  • Provide documentation and support for external audits

Compliance & Tax Reporting

  • Prepare and/or support payroll, sales, property, and other tax filings
  • Provide information to prepare income tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

  • Develop and enhance accounting policies and procedures
  • Strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and reporting

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience required)
  • 3–5 years of general accounting experience
  • 1–2 years of cost accounting experience

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting systems and ERP environments
  • Advanced Excel and strong computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serves as a key cross-functional partner across departments
  • Leads through influence (no direct reports)
  • Facilitates collaboration with internal teams, auditors, vendors, and stakeholders
