Job Title: LEAD SUPERVISOR- FOUNDRY GRILL

Department: F&B

Reports To: Foundry Grill Manager

Rate of Pay: $24.00/hour or DOE

Shift: Part Time, Year-Round Position

Variable shifts Monday through Sunday

Must be available to work weekends and holidays


SUMMARY

Lead a professional service team in providing exceptional service & hospitality to our guests by exhibiting remarkable personal and professional service skills with guests and employees alike. Continually provide up-to-date training and use positive and proficient leadership skills to supervise and motivate staff, creating a casual and professional environment. Oversee and direct all aspects of dining room operations, acting as the manager on duty.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Take ownership for all aspects of Foundry Grill restaurant operations and service standards during shift.

Display exceptional understanding of dining service standards.

Exhibit exceptional job and product knowledge to provide staff and guests with accurate information in all aspects of food, wine, service, and resort information.

Demonstrate knowledge and compliance of Utah liquor laws.

Ensure that the restaurant is clean and organized at all times with side work and cleaning schedules complete.

Assist in maintaining cleanliness of restaurant and effective operations such as table set-ups, flowers, decorations, lighting.

Support the recycling program.

Requisition restaurant supplies for adequate levels for service.

Oversee and assist in the set-up, confirmation, and organization of restaurant reservations.

Ensure all staff maintain a neat and clean appearance and are in complete designated wrinkle free uniform and name tags.

Assist in training and managing of front of the house employees.

Train staff to share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.

Assist in planning and conducting daily pre-meal meetings and trainings.

Provide a learning and exceptional service environment through daily training.

Ensure proper sequence of service for all dining guests.

Personally greet and/or seat 80 % of all guests on a daily basis. Supervisor's floor presence will be expected during peak times to keep specified percentages.

Exhibit self-confidence to the degree necessary to handle a variety of situations in a positive and professional manner.

Report guest feedback to Chef and Restaurant Manager.

When closing run sales reports, reconcile server check outs, and inspect side work.

Exhibit knowledge, proficiency, and confidence in expediting, bartending, and service to provide support to team as needed.

Exhibit a positive attitude when speaking about guests and fellow employees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in the absence of manager in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training in a supervisory position in a full service restaurant; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.

Must have or obtain the Tips & Sips alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.

Must pass UDABC background check and send fingerprints to the DABC to represent Sundance's liquor license.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
