Job Summary:

As a Help Desk Technician on our Information Technology team, you will provide initial employee support for technical inquiries received via phone, email, and messaging applications. You will be part of a small IT team of systems engineers and programmers working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with team members to deliver exceptional support for the services IT provides.

Responsibilities:

The Help Desk Technician provides the initial support for incoming technical requests. This includes troubleshooting software and hardware issues on laptops, desktops, tablets, and/or smartphones and logging support tickets, as well as triage and escalating more complex issues to engineers and programmers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide timely resolution to technical support issues
  • Identify, repair, or resolve hardware or software issues from TestOut employees
  • Record support incidents and requests in our ticketing system, monitor the ticket queue, and document solutions
  • Escalate tickets as needed after initial triage
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support requests
  • Perform special projects as assigned/required
  • Maintain updated knowledge on computer hardware and software
  • Work well with others

Required Skills:

  • Excellent telephone soft skills
  • Knowledge of Active Directory & Office 365
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to think logically and be able to make correct decisions relative to fixing operational problems
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems
  • Able to read and follow detailed instructions for routine tasks and requests

Required Experience & Knowledge:

  • High school diploma.
  • 1+ years of experience in computer/customer support role

Desired Experience & Knowledge:

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline
  • Industry standard certifications (CompTIA Network+, A+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support, etc.)
