JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for cleaning guest rooms and responding to guest requests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean guest rooms as assigned, including, but not limited to, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming/ floor care duties, straightening desk items, furniture, and appliances
  • Cleaning and servicing guest rooms in a timely and organized manner, following procedures and hotel standards
  • Change and replenish bed linens, towels, and guest amenities, as needed
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks, as needed
  • Communicate clean status of each room upon completion
  • Stock, maintain, and transport housekeeping supply cart on a daily basis
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables
  • Report any areas within guest rooms that need attention, such as fixtures, door locks, televisions, etc...
  • Report lost and found articles to your supervisor
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment
  • Ability and willingness to perform assigned duties with strong attention to detail, speed accuracy, follow through, and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability and willingness to exert physical effort consistent with cleaning assigned rooms, as per the hotel standards
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal/ written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule which includes working on weekends and holidays
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time up to 8 hours a day
  • Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred
  • PAY DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Prolonged strenuous physical activity in indoor climate-controlled environment
  • Outdoor exposure when moving and transporting cart from room to room and to/ from housekeeping office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to grasp, bend, stretch, reach; push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture weighing up to 50 lbs. throughout a shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. continually throughout a shift
  • Must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout a shift
  • Ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas, and to read written instructions and computer print-outs.
