As a Scrum Master II on the Principal Architecture team, you will coordinate the work of an Agile development team working on the overall product architecture of the company's autonomous vehicle lines. This role involves planning and facilitating scrum activities such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, board reviews, and retrospectives. You will collaborate with clients and end users to understand business requirements and acts as a liaison between development teams and product management to ensure appropriate project processes are followed. Additionally, you will identify and resolve impediments that may slow development or prevent the team from meeting established goals or milestones.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate scrum activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, board reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Ensuring the breakdown of work. Force the breakdown of stories into substories, tasks, spikes, etc.

  • Help build the schedule for deliverables. Resource mapping/loading, what is our capacity?

  • Strategically identify if the schedule requires more resources than the team currently has. Resource balancing.

  • Collaborate with clients or end users to understand business requirements.

  • Act as a liaison between development teams and product management to ensure appropriate project processes are followed.

  • Identify and resolve impediments that may slow development or prevent the team from meeting established goals or milestones.

  • Work with team members on backlog and processes.

  • Understand and remove impediments to the scrum process.

  • Escalation of risk issues outside of the development group to other management levels.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field. Scrum Master Certification (CSM) required.

  • 3-6 years of experience supporting highly technical teams such as research, robotics, or advanced engineering.

  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and hands on experience adapting them to R&D or research-centric environments.

  • Ability to translate complex technical work into clear plans without restricting exploration or scientific creativity.

  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and organizational skills suited for high complexity technical teams.

  • Proven ability to remove blockers, manage dependencies, and drive alignment across multiple technical partners.

  • Experience maintaining visibility, workflows, and structured documentation for complex or extended technical projects.

  • Comfort navigating ambiguous problem spaces where priorities shift quickly based on research results and emerging insights.

  • A service-oriented mindset focused on clarity, operational excellence, and enabling teams to do their best work.
