As a Scrum Master II on the AI Research and Development Platform team, you will create the structure, clarity, and operational rhythm that enables researchers, ML scientists, and engineers to rapidly explore, iterate, and push the boundaries of frontier scale AI. This role supports the scientific process by enabling velocity without introducing unnecessary overhead. You will coordinate research workflows, maintain experiment visibility, streamline communication, and help the team stay aligned as they drive breakthrough advancements in model development, training efficiency, system level innovation, and AI capability discovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Run standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives that support the fast moving and exploratory nature of AI research.

  • Shape and maintain the team's workflows and planning structures so researchers can focus on experimentation while maintaining alignment and clarity.

  • Translate broad research objectives into organized, trackable work that preserves scientific creativity and flexibility.

  • Identify blockers early and remove obstacles across teams, tools, and processes to keep research moving smoothly.

  • Coordinate dependencies across research, infrastructure, product, and robotics teams to ensure experiments progress without interruption.

  • Collaborate with research and engineering leads to ensure priorities, timelines, and experiments align with strategic research goals.

  • Support extensive research efforts while also ensuring momentum on short-term improvements, evaluations, and exploratory studies.

  • Promote team health by maintaining a predictable rhythm that balances deep work, communication, and collaboration.

  • Support onboarding, ramp up, and scaling efforts as the AI R&D Platform team grows and expands its capabilities.

  • Enhance communication and alignment through structured updates, shared artifacts, and coordinated research planning.

  • Uphold a team culture grounded in growth, safety, transparency, and shared ownership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field. Scrum Master Certification (CSM) required.

  • 3-6 years of experience supporting highly technical teams such as AI research, machine learning, robotics, or advanced engineering.

  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and hands on experience adapting them to R&D or research-centric environments.

  • Ability to translate complex technical work into clear plans without restricting exploration or scientific creativity.

  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and organizational skills suited for high complexity technical teams.

  • Proven ability to remove blockers, manage dependencies, and drive alignment across multiple technical partners.

  • Experience maintaining visibility, workflows, and structured documentation for complex or extended technical projects.

  • Comfort navigating ambiguous problem spaces where priorities shift quickly based on research results and emerging insights.

  • A service-oriented mindset focused on clarity, operational excellence, and enabling teams to do their best work.
