This is a project-based employee role supporting the initial development phase of our autonomous vehicle platforms. Development phases of this nature typically span up to project completion (typically 2–4 years), though scope and duration are driven by business needs.
JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Trainer/Writer III supports customer learning and product adoption through a combination of high-quality training delivery and instructional documentation. This role develops training programs and instructional content that help customers and internal teams understand and effectively use ASI's autonomous robotics platforms.
As a Level III contributor, this role independently designs training programs, delivers technical instruction, and produces instructional materials that translate complex robotic system behaviors into clear, usable learning resources. The position works closely with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure training materials remain accurate as systems evolve.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver virtual and in-person training sessions for customers and internal teams
- Provide hands-on instruction using sandbox environments and ASI automation systems
- Customize training materials to support different industries, workflows, and operational use cases
- Serve as a technical resource following training engagements to support customer understanding and adoption
- Gather customer feedback and collaborate with internal teams to improve training programs and materials
- Develop instructional content including quick-start guides, step-by-step procedures, and scenario-based learning resources
- Maintain training materials and instructional content within LMS and documentation platforms
- Write scripts, outlines, and supporting materials for training videos and onboarding workflows
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear instructional content for non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure documentation accuracy
- Maintain and update training materials as product capabilities evolve
- Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, analytics, and feedback
- Recommend and implement improvements to training delivery methods and instructional content
- Support train-the-trainer initiatives and contribute to scalable training processes
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB SKILLS
- 7+ years of experience in technical training, instructional design, technical writing, or customer education
- Strong experience developing and delivering technical training programs
- Proven ability to create instructional documentation that supports training workflows
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructional content
- Experience customizing training for different audiences and industries
- Experience using LMS platforms and documentation tools such as Zendesk or similar systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training and documentation projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with structured authoring tools such as Paligo or MadCap Flare
- Experience writing scripts or content for training videos or onboarding programs
- Experience working with robotics, automation systems, or complex technical products
- Experience supporting global or large-scale training programs
