Project Manager (II/III), Project Based
This is a project-based employee role supporting the initial development phase of our autonomous vehicle platforms. Development phases of this nature span until project completion though scope and duration are driven by business needs.

Role Overview
ASI is seeking a Project Manager to support two core robotics teams within the Material Handling Division. This role is a hands-on, execution-focused project management position responsible for driving schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring engineering teams meet committed milestones.
The Project Manager will actively own project plans, enforce deadlines, manage risk, and communicate clearly with engineering leadership, vendors, and internal stakeholders.The role is based on-site in Logan/Mendon, Utah. Regular in-person collaboration with engineering teams is required to be effective in this position.
Job Duties
Project Execution & Delivery
- Own end-to-end project planning, execution, and delivery for multiple concurrent engineering projects
- Drive detailed schedules, milestones, and dependencies across cross-functional engineering teams
- Hold teams accountable to deadlines while balancing technical realities and business commitments
- Actively identify risks, escalate issues, and implement mitigation strategies
Schedule & Budget Management
- Build and maintain project schedules using tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar
- Manage project budgets and track spend against forecasts
- Support leadership with accurate status reporting, timeline forecasting, and risk visibility
Engineering & Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate work across multiple engineering disciplines
- Communicate effectively with highly technical contributors and engineering leaders
- Proactively remove blockers and keep teams focused on priority deliverables
- Navigate schedule pressure while maintaining productive working relationships
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
- Interface with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, and leadership
- Coordinate with external vendors or third-party partners as needed
- Communicate project status clearly up, down, and across the organization
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Apply solid project management fundamentals and best practices
- Improve project visibility, consistency, and execution rigor over time
- Adapt processes to fit the realities of engineering-driven product development
Tools & Methods
- Project scheduling and tracking tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent)
- Jira for backlog tracking and coordination with Scrum-based engineering teams
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments (certification a plus, not required)
- Ability to leverage data and reporting to support decision-making (hands-on BI development not required)
Experience & Qualifications by Level
Project Manager I
- Entry-level project management experience in a technical or engineering-adjacent environment
- Exposure to project scheduling, task tracking, and cross-functional coordination
- Ability to support senior project managers and learn ASI project delivery processes
- Strong organizational skills and willingness to be on-site with engineering teams
Project Manager II
- 3+ years of experience managing technical or engineering-driven projects
- Proven ability to drive schedules, track milestones, and manage moderate project complexity
- Experience working directly with engineers across multiple disciplines
- Comfortable holding teams accountable to deadlines with guidance from leadership
Project Manager III
- 6+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering projects
- Strong ownership of schedules, budgets, risk management, and delivery commitments
- Demonstrated ability to independently run multiple projects simultaneously
- Trusted partner to engineering leadership with strong judgment under pressure
Project Manager IV
- 8+ years of experience managing large, high-impact technical programs or portfolios
- Expertise in managing multiple teams, long timelines, and significant budget responsibility
- Ability to anticipate systemic risks and drive alignment across engineering, operations, and leadership
- Mentors and coaches junior project managers; sets execution standards
Project Manager V
- Senior-level project leadership experience across complex, multi-year programs
- Recognized expert in delivery execution, risk mitigation, and cross-functional leadership
- Shapes project management strategy, best practices, and execution models across the organization
- Acts as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on delivery, resourcing, and program health
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in robotics, automation, industrial systems, or hardware/software development environments
- Experience supporting multiple teams or programs simultaneously
- Scrum or PMP certification (nice to have, not required)
- Experience coordinating with vendors or external partners
