Description

At ASI, we are revolutionizing industries with state-of-the-art autonomous robotics solutions. Within the fields of agriculture, construction, landscaping, and logistics, we deliver technologies that enhance safety, productivity, and efficiency. With our core values of Simplicity, Safety, Transparency, Humility, Attention to Detail, Autonomy and Growth guiding everything we do, we're shaping the future of automation in dynamic markets.

As an AI Engineer IV (Operations), you will prototype, integrate, and deploy AI applications that automate operational decisions across manufacturing and fleet operations. You will turn data into actionable automation and decision logic that reduces downtime, improves throughput, and drives scalable operational improvements. Working with operations leads, software engineers, and data teams, you will move models from experiment to production-ready automations and contribute to the monitoring and feedback loops that keep those automations safe and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying bottlenecks in manufacturing and fleet workflows and implement analytics and rule-based automations.

  • Prepare datasets, perform feature engineering, and build baseline predictive maintenance and forecasting models for equipment and fleet hardware.

  • Contribute to decision logic implementations such as alerting, triage rules, and simple dispatch criteria with human in the loop review.

  • Integrate models and automations into existing tools and workflows by working with software engineers to build dashboards, APIs, and operational interfaces.

  • Participate in CI/CD for ML pipelines, containerization, and basic Kubernetes deployments under supervision.

  • Instrument models and automations with monitoring, metrics, and feedback pipelines to measure business impact and detect drift or failure modes.

  • Document experiments, model assumptions, operational playbooks, and handoff artifacts to enable reproducibility and safe operations.

  • Support data collection, labeling, and lightweight tooling that accelerates operational model iteration and deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or operations automation with an emphasis on ML, LLM, and overall AI operations in recent years.

  • Practical experience with time series forecasting or supervised learning techniques applied to operational data.

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data preparation, modeling, and analysis.

  • Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD concepts; basic experience with Kubernetes is a plus.

  • Ability to translate model outputs into clear operational logic and to explain results to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytic and debugging skills with attention to operational safety, repeatability, and measurable impact.

  • Willingness to collaborate closely with field teams, operations leads, and software engineers to deploy and validate solutions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.

  • Ability to effectively complete job responsibilities using computer monitors and electronic communication tools.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means.

  • Ability to traverse office, lab, and field environments as required.
