About the Role

Join the team that keeps the mountain moving! If you want a job being in the outdoors, working with a large team with other operators who share your love of powder and the mountains, getting your foot in the door to work closely with Resort Mountain Operations, all while getting the opportunity to ski/snowboard around the mountain during your shift, then look no further. As a Winter Lift Operator, you'll help create safe, smooth, and memorable experiences for every guest who rides our lifts, and having the support of your lift team every step along the way. You'll spend your days outdoors, working closely with your team and other mountain departments from the base of the lifts to the shacks at the summits, and connecting with guests from all around the world while surrounded by the beauty of Sundance.

What You'll Do

  • You'll welcome guests and make sure they feel taken care of from the moment they arrive at the lift.
  • You'll monitor, start, and stop lift operations, assist with loading and unloading, organize lift lines, monitor the ticket gantry, and keep lift areas safe and organized.
  • You'll help maintain snow around the stations, set up and break down mazes, and communicate with supervisors and safety staff to keep everything running smoothly.
  • A big part of this role is supporting guest experiences. Whether you're scanning passes, answering questions, or helping someone new to the mountain, you'll be a resource and a friendly face. When unexpected situations arise, you'll stay calm and handle them with professionalism while keeping the focus on safety and enjoyment.

Our Guest Standards

At Sundance, we believe every interaction matters. As part of our team, you'll help ensure every guest feels Welcomed, Valued, and Inspired. That means greeting guests warmly, providing efficient service, and communicating clearly. It means understanding their needs, recognizing special occasions or groups, and responding thoughtfully to feedback. And it means sharing the story of Sundance, showing what makes this place special, and creating moments that leave a lasting impression.

Who You Are

  • You thrive outdoors and enjoy working in all types of weather.
  • You're someone who values teamwork and communication, stays adaptable when conditions change, and takes pride in helping others.
  • Skiing or snowboarding at an intermediate level is required, as you'll be moving between stations during your shift. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Perks & Benefits

Working at Sundance comes with some great benefits, including a free season pass, discounts on dining, retail, and resort amenities, and opportunities for training and development. You'll be part of a supportive team environment, spending your days surrounded by incredible mountain views.

If you want to spend your winter on the mountain skiing/snowboarding, connect with guests, and be part of a team that creates and delivers authentic Sundance experiences, we'd love to hear from you!
