Job Title: MANAGER OF SPA AND WELLNESS

Department: The Spa at Sundance

Reports To: Director of Lodging

Rate of Pay: $70K

Shift: Generally 5 days per week or as business levels apply

Weekends, holidays and special events are required based on business needs.

FLSA: Exempt/Salaried


Summary Create, support, and promote the image, service, and standards of The Spa at Sundance. Oversee all operations of the Spa, Fitness Center, and Wellness Program-including classes, seasonal retreats, and guest experiences. Sundance is expanding its wellness and development offerings, and this role calls for a creative, collaborative leader to drive innovation, elevate services, and bring our vision of holistic well-being to life.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible leadership, actively managing spa operations and guest services.
  • Establish and refine spa procedures, including SOPs, training plans, and guest service standards.
  • Oversee daily operations such as scheduling, yielding appointments, inventory, and staffing.
  • Develop and expand the Wellness Program, including yoga, meditation, fitness, and annual retreats, positioning Sundance as a destination for wellness.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Retail, and other resort departments to design promotions, collateral, and integrated wellness experiences.
  • Manage budgets, payroll, reporting, and financial accountability, ensuring goals are met and opportunities for growth are identified.
  • Recruit, train, and inspire spa staff; foster creativity, collaboration, and a positive, guest-focused culture.
  • Lead staff training and continued education, ensuring compliance with state laws, safety protocols, and resort sustainability standards.
  • Oversee professional product inventory, spa equipment, and facility maintenance to ensure high-quality operations.
  • Participate in resort leadership meetings, contributing ideas that advance both spa services and resort-wide wellness strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise approximately 20 year-round employees. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, training, performance management, and maintaining a positive team environment. Complete all HR-related documentation in a timely manner.


Qualifications

  • Minimum two years' experience in spa or wellness leadership; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative wellness programs and lead teams effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of spa industry trends and superior customer service skills.
  • Licensed Massage Therapist or Esthetician certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Book4time/SMS preferred.
