About being our Project Engineer

As our Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of major construction projects. You'll collaborate closely with owners, designers, contractors and regulatory partners while helping drive project coordination, documentation, and issue resolution. This role requires a dependable daily commute, and future assignments may vary in scope, complexity, and size.


Responsibility Highlights for our Project Engineer

  • Daily interactions/coordination with owner, designer, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
  • Managing the construction documentation process including RFIs, submittals, change management, estimating, scheduling, and reporting
  • Supporting efforts with the contractor and designer to resolve construction related issues and changes
  • Facilitating project delivery with the resolution of project issues in a fair and firm manner
  • Preparing daily and weekly project status reports as well as oversight of field inspection daily reports
  • Coordinating and supervising field construction management staff and their activities with other Psomas/Owner sub-consultants as directed
  • Support project labor compliance efforts

Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience including managing the construction or being involved with the engineering design of wastewater treatment facilities, public works infrastructure, and heavy civil projects
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is preferred; however, equivalent experience performing comparable work in the field, such as construction management or engineering design for similar projects, may be considered in lieu of certification
  • Knowledge of the construction process and the ability to read, understand, and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work on an active construction site, including walking over uneven terrain, climbing ladders, crawling, stooping and entering confined spaces, being outdoors in inclement weather, wearing proper safety equipment, and practicing industry safety protocols

    Compensation may be adjusted for well qualified candidates
