Job Title: SPA SUPERVISOR

Rate of Pay: $19.00/hour

Shift: Full time/year round, variable shifts.

May include evenings, weekends and Holidays

FLSA Status: Non Exempt


Summary:

Supervise the Spa at Sundance and Wellness Programs in the absence of the Spa Manager, ensuring the spa operates as a clean, safe, relaxing, and positive environment for guests and employees.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Positively promote the Spa at Sundance, Wellness Programs, and other Sundance amenities.
  • Promote wellness through the balance of mind, body, and nature through a unique and innovative yoga and wellness program.
  • Assist the Spa Manager in day-to-day operations of the Spa as requested.
  • Understand all the operational goals and needs of the spa.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the spa's front desk.
  • Work the Spa Front Desk as needed to maintain proficiency and accommodate fluctuations in business levels.
  • Maintain the Spa Front Desk schedule.
  • Maintain schedule for wellness staff.
  • Monitor staff's attendance and performance offering course correction as needed.
  • Be the example of punctuality and Sundance standards.
  • Oversee performance and needs of the spa.
  • Ensure that staff performs as prescribed by spa protocols, policies, and timeliness.
  • Ensure all closing duties have been completed for the Front Desk and Therapists prior to leaving.
  • Train new Front Desk staff, ensuring a depth of knowledge regarding retail products and services.
  • Train staff to support the recycling program and share the Sundance story of environmental commitment.
  • Possess exceptional knowledge of spa treatments, protocols, and products to be a resource for guests and team members.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and comfort throughout the spa experience.
  • Thrive under pressure setting a tone of tranquility for staff and guests.
  • Ensure an ambiance of relaxation.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of each treatment room and the entire spa.
  • Inspect the spa each shift and report general spa maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure retail area is organized and presentable.
  • Ensure the dispensary is clean and organized.
  • Fulfill any reasonable requests of the staff members, guests and management.
  • Communicate with management and other team members, regarding guest or service concerns.
  • In the absence of the Spa Manager, oversee all yoga & meditation classes.
  • Inspect wellness facilities and equipment reporting needed maintenance, housekeeping, or repairs.
  • Assist in the development of Wellness programs (meditation, yoga, nature hikes, pilates, etc.) that can be coupled with lodging to create guest Lodging packages.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of Wellness Retreats, including dining and lodging components.
  • Partner with Lodging Concierge and Marketing department to promote the Wellness programs to Lodging guests, the Sundance community, and locals.
  • Promote a positive and healthy working environment for all spa staff.
  • Attend all educational events and meetings sponsored by the Spa and Sundance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • 6 months to one year related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer, Esthetician, Massage Therapist Desired.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
