We are looking for a Support Engineer that has great technical drawing aptitude with test methodology mindset and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. The ideal candidate would like to draft and design with an eagerness to learn, enjoys solving problems and documenting the processes to get to the right solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with and consult Engineers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for product, mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting CAD software.
  • Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
  • Work with customers to support electrical, mechanical, and software elements for product and equipment.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery.
  • Evaluates designs, drawings, and fabrication to company, industry, and customer standards.
  • Produces and reviews product documentation including proposals, test protocols, and technical reports.
  • Supervise or conduct performance qualification test planning, test fixture design, test execution, creation of test reports.
  • Manage change orders and implementation.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • Manage Support Engineering projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Supports Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), Nonconforming Materials. Reports (NCMR), and Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) activities.
  • Prototype sample creation.
  • Tool and Fixture Design.
  • Support supplier qualification activities.
  • Lead Measurement System Analysis/ Gage R&R efforts.
  • Responsible for product and equipment validation activities.
  • Works under general direction.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Travel both domestically and internationally as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • Drafting and Design Technology or similar Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in design of components for plastics injection molding, metal forming/stamping, and electro-mechanical devices preferred.
  • Experience related to electromechanical products with an emphasis in connector design, fine wire termination, and cabling preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical regulated organization utilizing ISO 13485 & 21 CFR 820 is preferred.
  • Experience with ASME Y14.1 and ASME Y14.5.
  • SolidWorks certification preferred.
