IT HELP DESK TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY:
The Help Desk Technician works to manage corporate technology needs, including implementing and maintaining workstations and other infrastructure at multiple sites. Primary duties include solving a variety of OS, application, and other problems, both remote and onsite. The position demands expert knowledge in Windows, applications, and basic networking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot a broad range of desktop, server, and network problems.
- Responsible for handling daily technical support activities.
- Perform hardware and software installations on desktops and laptops: Windows & Mac OS.
- Assist staff with hardware and software-related issues and provide solutions.
- Provide IT support over the phone and on-site.
- Document service tickets and final resolutions.
- Maintain broad knowledge of new technologies and identify those that may benefit the company.
- Implement and upgrade corporate systems and networks.
- Team player on a 24x7 support staff, which requires periodic on-call and weekend support.
- Other duties as assigned (Mitigating vulnerabilities, inventory management, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years advanced troubleshooting of desktop, server, and network problems.
- Strong soft skills, including customer service and friendly personality.
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
- Previous experience with Help Desk or related position required.
- Ability to operate without close supervision and handle significant time and other pressures.
- Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
- Good understanding of desktop/laptop hardware and BIOS.
- Ability to install and manage Windows and Mac systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of Azure, Active Directory and other MS technologies (Office 365) in corporate environments.
- IT certificates a plus
