This role will focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous process improvements to support the development and sustainment of the X-ray Sources business unit. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will also mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.

Essential Duties:

  • Utilize advanced knowledge to analyze manufacturing data to drive continuous improvement, reduce variability, and improve overall yield.
  • Develop and implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor variation and changes in manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to resolve production issues.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Manufacturing Engineering team to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on data-driven insights and customer feedback.
  • Become a key contributor to Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and standard work (SW) initiatives to drive waste reduction and efficiency.
  • Use JMP statistical software to access raw data, organize the data, and then produce graphs and charts that communicate manufacturing yields and identify areas to focus continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee the performance of processes and tests, then document the results of the process or test.
  • Use problem solving and decision making tools to analyze a situation or data, then determine the best course of action.
  • Develop, edit, and maintain standard work combination sheets (SW), process flow charts, and value stream maps (VSM).
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on data analytics, statistics, and manufacturing process optimization.
  • Evaluate current processes and manufacturing systems to identify potential improvements, then be able to evaluate the return on investment (ROI) and risk associated with identified improvements.
  • Support the incoming quality assurance (IQA) team in resolving non-conforming report (NCR) action items and countermeasures.
  • Learn the basics of ultra-high vacuum (UHV) design and requirements, clean room operations, and machining technology.
