Guided by core values like Simplicity, Safety, Transparency, Humility, and Growth, we deliver advanced, market-leading solutions across dynamic sectors including construction, mining, agriculture, and renewable energy projects like solar farms.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) Development Manager to oversee and drive our Platform Team at ASI. The GNC Manager will lead the development, deployment, and validation of control and localization algorithms that power our autonomous vehicle platforms across industries such as agriculture, logistics, landscaping, and construction.

This leader will manage a growing team of GNC engineers, ensure technical excellence, and align efforts with ASI's mission of delivering safe, reliable, and innovative robotic solutions. The role also requires a strong understanding of software development practices and modular system architectures to enable scalability and reusability across ASI's platform.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise in GNC with proven engineering leadership, driving the integration of control systems from simulation to field deployment while mentoring and developing engineering talent within an agile, iterative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the GNC engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the strategy, design, and implementation of control, guidance, and state estimation systems for ASI's autonomous vehicle platforms.
  • Champion modular, reusable, and scalable software architectures within the Platform Team to ensure long-term maintainability and adaptability of GNC systems.
  • Oversee the development and validation pipeline (simulation, HIL, and field testing) to ensure robust, real-world system performance.
  • Align GNC development with platform-level architecture, ensuring interoperability with perception, embedded software, and mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical expertise in controls, estimation, and sensor fusion, guiding engineers through complex challenges in real-world deployment.
  • Manage project budgets, staffing, and schedules to deliver on time and within scope.
  • Ensure adherence to ASI's engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, and senior leadership to align GNC capabilities with business and customer needs.
  • Lead the GNC team in agile/scrum development cycles, promoting iterative development, sprint planning, and continuous integration.
  • Promote documentation, requirements-driven design, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, providing growth opportunities and technical guidance.
  • Stay current with advancements in GNC theory, control strategies, and robotics technology to keep ASI at the cutting edge.
