This position is a W2 contract employee role with ASI for a defined project period, offering the stability of W2 employment along with access to benefits while you support our autonomous technology programs. As a contract employee, you'll work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment alongside engineers and product teams to help advance practical robotics solutions in the field.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems for small robots and other ground-based autonomous vehicles according to customer requirements and under the direction and oversight of the Project Manager/Team Lead and Functional Lead.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Electrical Engineer designs and develops electrical equipment, circuit boards, components, products, and systems.
  • Designs, tests, and determines fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
  • Knowledge of all phases of board development from inception through production (architecture, schematics, layout, debug and documentation), and FPGA applications.
  • Knowledge of Software design, Firmware design.
  • Ensures that manufacturing,installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Stays abreast and informed of new and emerging technologies that improve the design, development, and testing.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB SKILLS

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experienced in the designing with embedded processors.
  • Proficient with ALTIUM designer or equivalent.
  • Experienced and proficient in the use of test tools and equipment, such as Ocilloscopes, Logic analyzer, etc.
