We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our talented engineering team in Logan, Utah. In this role, you'll take part in the entire product lifecycle-researching, designing, analyzing, and supporting the production of sensor technologies that make a real-world difference. What You'll Do
- Develop and support pressure, level, and other sensor products from concept through production
- Design and analyze components using SolidWorks or Solid Edge and FEA tools like ANSYS or COMSOL
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) to optimize product performance and cost
- Collaborate with sourcing, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth product launch and lifecycle support
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges across new and existing products
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, and specifications
- Support sales and marketing with technical insights and custom solution development
- Coordinate with external labs for standards testing and certifications when needed
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related field from an ABET-accredited university
- 4+ years of experience in sensor design and/or manufacturing
- Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks or Solid Edge) and FEA tools
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods including CNC machining, TIG or laser welding
- Experience with ERP systems, technical documentation, and root cause analysis
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information
- A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a drive for innovation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sensor types such as piezoelectric, capacitive, or MEMS
- Familiarity with adhesives and materials used in sensor assembly
- Understanding of environmental testing and hazardous location certification processes (UL, CSA, etc.)
- Background in designing pressure, flow, or temperature sensors
