Position Overview

The Director of Sales is a senior leader within our commercial organization, responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth. Working closely with the VP of Sales, this role oversees business development and regional sales managers, to execute the company's overall sales strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key member of Sales leadership team to support the organization's commercial development and growth goals
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of regional sales managers (in North America and ex-US) and business development specialists to maximize performance.
  • Skillful in advanced relationship selling techniques using ATL's documented methodology and training.
  • Meet with targeted customers and assist the regional sales managers to cultivate relationships and close deals.
  • Develop annual sales plans as well as strategic account plans with Vice President of Sales
  • Develop and recommend customer product positioning and pricing strategy to produce favorable outcomes for ATL and its customers.
  • Achieve corporate profit margin at each account.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers, key strategic customers, and internal departments.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to refine messaging and target ideal customer profiles.
  • Analyze sales metrics, prepare detailed performance reports, and present strategic recommendations to senior management
  • Continuously seek new sources of leads and innovative methods for pipeline generation.
  • Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities as needed.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of Medical OEM sales and management of a sales team with a proven record of growing high performing teams
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proven track record as a leader with demonstrable success managing targeted and growth accounts and driving top-of-funnel activity.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience navigating complex sales cycles and multi-level decision-making environments.
  • Ability to respond to common customer escalations
  • Experience understanding country specific differences and teams
